The Centumviri
In this week's essay about the Basilica Julia, I mention that it was likely used for the centumviri, the Court of the Hundred, which was a civil court system of four juries. Even though the various courts were separated by wood partitions, it seems like it would have been a challenge to try cases in this manner.

That made me curious. Why wooden partitions instead of walls for the different subcourts?

I want to read your ideas on my question before sharing any of my own.
